portraits and the goldensprout award 09

hoi-ho!
updaet tiem!
a while ago i was handpicked to made a series of 7 portraits for a brosjure that my school was going to put out. they do this every year but this year they wanted illustrations instead of photos and i was the lucky one to be chosen for this gig. huzzah!
with these portraits i've tried to not only draw the persons as accurately as possible, i've also tried to add on some elements, objects, things and symbols that either has something to do with the person or the job that person has. a kind of personalized portrait, if you will. hope you dig!

And in other news: each year at my school we have a celebration and an award show to award the most promising students to attend the different classes of our school called the goldsprout award. and this year, the winner of gold for illustration was: . . . me! double huzzah! but though, the party after the award ceremony was funnier.
and on that note, i bid you all many good wishes and enjoy the summer. i won't as i can't stand the overheating and will probably stay underground, drawing. i'll try to put up some stuff on this page or my deviant art account as soon as possible. untill then, ciao

the BLOODSOUL comix idea

oi! about time for a little update!
the school year is nearing it's end and the end of a long and joyful time at an awesome school is drawing near. it's sad to leave this school. leaving so many memories, so many wicked people and a building of hard stone who's been a safe harbour for over two years. it is time to take flight and fly the unknown skies. hopefully my flight will not end like icarus's. we shall see.
either way, the last half year i've been working on a project of my own chosing. a comix project i've had inside my head for a long while. so i decided to make a teaser for this thing, to both test my skillz and the medium of comix. i don't want to say too much about the story because it's a loooong one, a bit complex and i don't want to spoil it. but what i can say is that it's a story that follows two persons, a dead kenshi/swordsman in yomi (the underworld) and his love, a woman in the realm of the living. the kenshi wants to come back to the living so that he can be with his love again and she wants to revive him, in some way. they are both aided by mystical creatures, the kenshi a snake and the woman a fox.
the story is a mash of romeo & juliet, blade of the immortal, japanese history, folklore and mythologi + a small side order of hellboy and sandman. it will contain swordfights, blood, magic, mytological creatures and monsters. in short, all the good stuff.
the beyond awesome and genious sigbjørn lilleeng aided me in making these pages. check out his blog, art and comics at http://sigbjornlilleeng.blogspot.com/.
this is a story i hope some day to both write and tell, either in it's current form or in another. 'till then you'll just have to enjoy these teaser pages. enjoy!
